De geboorte van je baby is een van de meest bijzondere momenten in je leven. Intens, mooi en vol nieuwe indrukken. Terwijl je lichaam herstelt en jullie elkaar leren kennen, kan het fijn zijn om de eerste dagen in een rustige, veilige omgeving door te brengen.

In de kraamkamers vind je deze rust. Hier staat jouw herstel centraal, met professionele begeleiding van ervaren kraamverzorgenden, alle zorg dichtbij en ruimte om te wennen aan je nieuwe gezinssituatie.

Geschikt voor iedere bevalling

Of je nu thuis bent bevallen, poliklinisch of in een ziekenhuis, een verblijf in een kraamkamer is altijd mogelijk. Een kraamkamer biedt een rustige overgang naar je eigen huis en het leven thuis, met steun, begeleiding en aandacht precies op het moment dat je het nodig hebt. Hier kun je samen herstellen, wennen en vertrouwen opbouwen voordat je het echte thuisleven start.

Een rustige overgang naar huis

Waar je ook bevallen bent, in het ziekenhuis of thuis, een kraamkamer is een ideale brug naar je eigen huis. Hier kun je herstellen en wennen aan je nieuwe gezinsleven, met deskundige begeleiding dichtbij. Je krijgt de tijd en ruimte om de verzorging van je baby te leren, vragen te stellen en samen tot rust te komen. Het is een zachte landing: een plek waar je samen kunt zijn, knuffelen en vertrouwen opbouwen, voordat je weer naar huis gaat.

De kraamkamer

Elke kraamkamer is ingericht om je verblijf zo rustig en zorgeloos mogelijk te maken:

  • Een eigen kamer
  • Jij en je baby, maar ook je partner kan blijven overnachten
  • Babybedje, badje, commode en aankleedkussen
  • Ontbijt, lunch en avondeten voor de kraamvrouw en partner tegen een kleine vergoeding
  • Koffie en thee, plus de mogelijkheid eigen eten op te warmen
  • Bezoek tot 20.00 uur, met rustmomenten in de middag

Alles is aanwezig zodat jij je kunt richten op wat echt telt: herstellen en genieten van je baby.

Wat neem je zelf mee?

Om je verblijf zo comfortabel mogelijk te maken, vragen we je de volgende spullen mee te nemen:

  • Kraampakket
  • Luiers
  • Billendoekjes
  • Slippers en eventueel een badjas
  • Zorgdossier van je kraamzorgorganisatie
  • Toiletspullen voor jou en je baby
  • Kleding voor jou en je baby
  • Eigen omslagdoek en mutsje
  • Flesjes, speentjes en eventueel kunstvoeding
  • Thermometer
  • Paracetamol
  • Autostoel voor je baby
  • Beschuit met muisjes

Deskundige zorg met aandacht

Onze kraamverzorgenden zijn ervaren, gediplomeerd en betrokken. Zij werken vanuit hun hart en de wil om anderen te helpen en verzorgen. In de regio werken ruim 140 kraamverzorgenden, die dagelijks klaarstaan om jou en je baby te begeleiden.

Zij zorgen voor:

  • Dagelijkse controles van moeder en kind
  • Hulp bij (borst)voeding en verzorging
  • Antwoord op al je vragen en praktische tips
  • Persoonlijke begeleiding op maat

Dankzij de nauwe samenwerking met het Máxima Medisch Centrum is ook medische zorg altijd dichtbij. Het ziekenhuis draagt bij aan een optimale keten moeder-kindzorg, waarbij kraamzorg, verloskunde en ziekenhuiszorg naadloos op elkaar aansluiten. Professioneel waar nodig, liefdevol en persoonlijk waar het kan.

Vergoeding en beschikbaarheid

Het verblijf in het kraamcentrum wordt grotendeels vergoed door de zorgverzekering. Net als bij kraamzorg thuis geldt een wettelijke eigen bijdrage van € 5,70 per uur, met een maximum van acht uur per dag. Ouders wordt geadviseerd hun zorgpolis te raadplegen. Het verblijf duurt maximaal vier dagen. Indien gewenst kan aansluitend kraamzorg thuis worden voortgezet tot en met de zesde dag na de bevalling.

Het kraamcentrum is beschikbaar voor cliënten van alle kraamzorgorganisaties in de regio. Je hoeft dus niet per se al kraamzorg via VDA te hebben geregeld om hier te verblijven. Je kunt tot maximaal 4 dagen gebruikmaken van het kraamcentrum.

Our new maternity care centre at Máxima Medisch Centrum in Veldhoven is now open. We warmly welcome you to one of our eight beautiful, homely rooms, offering a calm and carefree start for you and your baby.

The birth of your baby is one of the most special moments in your life: intense, beautiful and filled with new emotions and experiences. While your body recovers and you begin getting to know one another, it can be comforting to spend the first few days in a peaceful and safe environment.

Our maternity rooms provide exactly that sense of calm. Your recovery is our priority, supported by experienced maternity nurses, with professional care close at hand and plenty of space to adjust to your new family life.

Suitable after every birth

Whether you have given birth at home, as an outpatient, or in hospital, staying in one of our maternity rooms is always possible. A maternity room offers a gentle transition to life back at home, with support, guidance and personal attention exactly when you need it most. Here, you can recover together, adjust to your new routine, and build confidence before starting everyday family life at home.

A peaceful transition home

No matter where you gave birth, at home or in hospital, a maternity room is the ideal bridge to your own home. It gives you the opportunity to recover and settle into family life with expert support nearby.

You will have the time and space to learn how to care for your baby, ask questions and relax together. It is a soft landing: a place where you can bond, cuddle, and grow in confidence before returning home.

The maternity room

Each maternity room is thoughtfully designed to make your stay as peaceful and comfortable as possible, including:

  • A private room
  • Overnight stay facilities for you, your baby and your partner
  • A baby cot, bath, changing table and changing mat
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner available for the mother and partner for a small fee
  • Complimentary coffee and tea, with facilities to warm up your own meals
  • Visiting hours until 8:00 PM, with designated quiet periods in the afternoon

Everything is provided so you can focus on what truly matters: recovering and enjoying time with your baby.

What should I bring?

To help make your stay as comfortable as possible, we kindly ask you to bring the following items:

  • Your maternity care package (kraampakket)
  • Nappies
  • Baby wipes
  • Slippers and, if you wish, a bathrobe
  • Your maternity care records from your maternity care organisation
  • Toiletries for yourself and your baby
  • Clothes for yourself and your baby
  • A baby blanket (or swaddle blanket) and a hat
  • Baby bottles, bottle teats and infant formula, if needed
  • A thermometer
  • Paracetamol
  • A baby car seat for the journey home
  • Beschuit met muisjes– the traditional Dutch celebratory rusks with sugared aniseed

Expert care with personal attention

Our maternity nurses are experienced, fully qualified, and genuinely caring. They work with compassion and dedication, driven by a true passion for supporting and caring for others. Across the region, more than 140 maternity nurses are ready every day to guide and support you and your baby.

They provide:

  • Daily health checks for both mother and baby
  • Support with feeding, including breastfeeding guidance
  • Answers to all your questions and practical advice
  • Personalised care tailored to your needs

Thanks to our close collaboration with Máxima Medisch Centrum, medical care is always nearby if needed. The hospital contributes to an integrated approach to mother-and-child care, where maternity care, midwifery, and hospital services work seamlessly together. professional where necessary, warm and personal wherever possible.

Costs and availability

Your stay at the maternity care centre is largely covered by Dutch health insurance. As with maternity care at home, a statutory personal contribution of €5.70 per hour applies, up to a maximum of eight hours per day. Parents are advised to check the details of their own health insurance policy.

A stay can last up to four days. If desired, maternity care at home can continue afterwards until the sixth day following birth.

The maternity care centre is available to clients of all maternity care organisations in the region. You do not need to have arranged maternity care through VDA in order to stay with us. You may use the maternity care centre for a maximum of four days.
